2024 Book Gift Guide: for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers
As pediatric speech-language pathologists and moms, we LOVE to gift books. They truly are the gifts that keep giving (Plus, they look cute on a shelf 🥰).
Reading together is one of the best ways we can support language development. We are always on the hunt for books that are engaging for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers AND that we don’t mind reading over and over (and over!).
In this gift guide, you’ll find a list of some of our current favorites for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.
You can also add these to books to your library list for your next visit! We also encourage shopping at your local book store or via bookshop.org if you're in the USA.
AND because it’s one of our most requested links… you can find that adorable braided house basket above, here.

We love this author--she's a fellow speech language pathologist so she knows what's important when it comes to language development! Plus, the beautiful watercolor illustrations are stunning.
Little ones will copy sounds and noises before they imitate words. We love Tap Tap Bang Bang for encouraging playing around with fun sounds! Your little one is sure to love it.

It's different each time you read it and great for sparking conversations. It looks like it’s out of stock currently, but be sure to look for it at your library.
